Landscapes and Museums: the Point of View of Museology. - Landscape is a crucial concept for many disciplines and approaches in contemporary thought. Museology is no exception to this rule especially following the changes it experienced in the last decades of the twentieth century (New Museology). The purely conservative view of traditional museology clearly showed its limits, while the developmental approach suggested by a section of cultural economics is not persuasive: we need an evolutionary point of view, able to comprehend not a simple preservation of the landscape but its community-led management and change. Interesting good practices exist and some of them are mentioned and described. The consequences are equally relevant for researchers. This does not eliminate opportunities for a common endeavour between academic knowledge and bottom-up and community-led initiatives. On the contrary, the European Landscape Convention provides many possibilities for exploring them.

Paysage et musées: le point de vue de la géographie.- Le paysage est un concept crucial pour beaucoup de disciplines et approches scientifiques contemporains. La muséologie ne fait pas exception, surtout après l'évolution expérimenté dans les dernier décades du Vingtième siècle (Nouvelle Muséologie). L'approche purement «conservationiste» de la muséologie traditionnelle montre ses limites pendent que l'analyse «développementaliste» proposé par une partie de l'Economie de la Culture n'est pas convainquant: il faut assumer un point de vue évolutif, capable de ne pas s'arrêter à la simple conservation du paysage, mais plutôt à son gouvernement et transformation, avec un control d'en bas par les communautés d'habitants.
