Arcangelo Ghisleri (1855-1938) and "geografia di casa nostra". - Since Lucio Gambi,Arcangelo Ghisleri has always been represented as a "heterodox" and a "protesting" geographer, as well as an antagonist of Italian academic geography. Such opinion does not seem totally justified if one compares, for example, his geografia per tutti with in alto, the friulan magazine directed by Giovanni Marinelli, developing with equal consistence and similar aims the the theme of "home geography", that formed the most influential italian geographers. Ghisleri's work and thought imply a more articulate and careful evaluation of those democratic movements originating from the Risorgimento that nourished a great part of our geography. Again, the theory of pre-fascist attitude of italian geographers is a prejudice to be left behind.

Arcangelo Ghisleri (1855-1938) et la "geografia di casa nostra" - A partir de Lucio Gambi, Arcangelo Ghisleri a toujours été représenté comme un géographe "hétérodoxe" et "contestataire", un antagoniste de la géographie académique italienne. Ce jugement ne semble pas complétement justifié si, par exemple, on compare sa Geografia per tutti avec In Alto, la revue du Frioul dirigée par Giovanni Marinelli, qui développe le thème de la "géographie de chez nous" avec la meme cohérence et des buts similaires et qui forme les géographes italiens les plus importants. La pensée et l'oeuvre de Ghisleri impliquent donc une évaluation plus attentive et articulée des courants démocratiques qui naissent du Risorgimento et alimentent une bonne partie de notre géographie. La Thése de l'attitude pré-fasciste des géographes italiens est un préjudice à dépasser en ce cas aussi.
