Sourou Valley (Burkina Faso): towards a geography of hydraulic territorialization
in Africa. - The paper deals with the pattern of the hydraulic territorialization,
i.e. the construction of the territory by means of the irrigation, in Africa drylands,
taking the case of the Sourou valley, in NW Burkina Faso. The evolution of the territorialization
process, in the frame of changing rationalities in water use in the whole sahelo-sudanese zone,
as well as the outcoming territorial structure are analysed and depicted.
The last parts deal with the environmental conflicts rising in the project's present implementation
step and with the processes by which the project is changing according to
the territorial feed back (autopoietic, sinpoietic and synaptic paths of change are identified).

hydraulique en Afrique. - Larticle considère ìes caractères de la territorialisation
hydraulique, c'est à dire la construction de territoire par le biais de l'irrigation, en
Afrique sèche, en prenant le cas de la Vallée du Sourou, dans le Burkina Faso du nordouest.
L'évolution du procès de territorialisation, dans le cadre du changement des rationalités
de l'utilisation de l'eau dans la zone sahélo-soudanienne, autant que la structure
territoriale qui en dérive, sont analysées et représentées. Les dernières parties considèrent
les conflits environnementaux qui se lèvent dans la phase présente du projet et les
procès de changement du projet en relation avec la rétroaction du territoire (les modalités
autopoietiques, sinpoietiques et synaptiques de changement sont identifiées).
