New ways of local development in the framework of globalization. - Following a concise discussion about the nature of globalization, the essay focuses the technical and spatial characters of Internet and its social and territorial effects. The crucial question is if Internet is able to contain social communication and, in consequence, if it is able to express and produce territorial identity, that is the base of local development. The answer is problematic and involves the aim of sustainable development.

Nouveaux chemins de développement local dans le cadre de la globalisation. - Après avoir brièvement discuté sur la nature de la globalisation, l'auteur centre son attention sur le réseau télé-informatique Internet, sur ses caractères techniques et économiques et sur ses effets socio-spatiales. Il s'agit de savoir si Internet est à meme de contenir la communication sociale et, donc, d'exprimer et de produire des indentités socio-spatiales, qui sont à la base du développement local. La reponse a cette question est assez ambigue et problematique et concerne aussi l'objectif du développement durable.
