This Symposium was one of those held on the occasion of the European Regional Conference of the International Geographical Union in Budapest in August 1971. A brief report is given on the work of the Symposium, which was held in various places on the Hungarian plain, with excursions and visits to farms which allowed the 45 participants to acquire first-hand knowledge of some interesting agrarian structures.
