Some remarks on the organization of geographical research in Italy with reference to Committee of Italian Geographers. The author claims that the Committee of Italian Geographers, due to its composition and structure, is inadequate for the requirements of scientific research; he maintains that this Committee is not sufficiently open to current trends in geography because, among other things, it does not include all geographers. He criticizes, furthermore, certain of the Committee's suggestions concerning the new departmental structures envisaged by the university reform.
