Fiuggi (nel Lazio) è oggi una stazione minerale molto frequentata, ma il suo sviluppo è avvenuto solo dallo scorcio del'Ottocento, sebbene le sue sorgenti fossero conosciute e utilizzate da secoli. Le sorgenti si trovano presso la base di un colle, su cui è situato l'antico borgo già detto Anticoli di Campagna ed oggi Fiuggi Città. Un nuovo abitato ben provvisto di alberghi e altre attrezzature per la clientela, è sorto nel fondo di una conca pianeggiante (posta a 550-650 m d'altitudine) ed è chiamato Fiuggi Fonte. La popolazione continua a risiedere in maggior parte nel vecchio borgo, pur essendo rivolta, dall'attività agricola, a quella turistico - commerciale. Diversamente dai primi tempi, Fiuggi è frequentata ora specialmente dai ceti medi, come dimostra anche il carattere prevalente degli esercizi alberghieri. Il tasso turistico secondo la formula del Delfert è passato tra il 1957 e il 1967 da 76 a 130. i clienti sono per la quasi totalità italiani (fra gli stranieri prevalgono gli svizzeri).

Geographical comments on the mineral- water resort of Fiuggi. Fiuggi (in the region of Lazio) is today a much frequented mineral-water resort, but its development began only at the end of the nineteenth century, although its springs had been known and used for centuries. The springs are near the foot of a hill on which rises the ancient town once called Anticoli di Campagna and now Fiuggi Città. A new residential area well supplied with hotels and other facilities for visitors has grown up in the bottom of a basin (at 550-650 ms.altitude), and is called Fiuggi Fonte. The population continues to live for the most part in the old town, although its activity has changed from agricultural to commercial-touristic. In contrast to early days, Fiuggi is now frequented particularly by the middle classes, as is demonstrated also by the prevalent character of the hotels. The tourists rate according to Defert's formula has risen between 1957 and 1967 from 76 to 130. The visitors are almost all Italians (and among the foreigners the Swiss are most numerous).
