ABSTRACT:
La letteratura sul rapporto tra suono e ambiente è molto vasta, ed il rinnovato interesse per il tema, specialmente nel contesto dei critical urban studies, contribuisce a renderlo ricco di approcci e prospettive. L'obiettivo di questo articolo è evidenziare, attraverso una revisione della letteratura, alcuni elementi come centrali per futuri approfondimenti nell'ambito della geografia del suono. L'auspicio più generale è quello di suggerire delle linee lungo le quali evolvere un discorso articolato attraverso cinque-macro aree tematiche (soundscape, ascolto, voce, metodi fonografici e musica) che possano apportare un contributo alla riflessione sulla definizione analitica del soundscape come strumento critico di ricerca geografica.
Acoustic landscape: the soundscape in relation to listening, voice and music - There is a wealth of literature focussing on the relation between sound and space-time. The recent revived interest for this topic in fields such as that of critical urban studies produced even richer contributions to the discipline, in terms of approaches and perspectives. The aim of this paper is to highlight, through a literature review, some elements as key factors to inform future research in the field of sound geography. To a more general level, the objective is to suggest possible cue lines through the articulation of five macrotopics (soundscape, listening, voice, phonographic methods and music) which might contribute to the debate on the analytical definition of soundscape, intended as a critical tool for geographical research.
