La notte urbana, una nuova frontiera per la ricerca geografica in Italia

La notte è oggi animata da un numero crescente di pratiche economiche, sociali e culturali tanto da far parlare alcune autori di una "notturnalizzazione" della società. Queste trasformazioni hanno attirato l'attenzione di ricercatori e la notte urbana è oggi un tema emergente nella letteratura geografica in lingua inglese, francese, spagnola e tedesca. Per contribuire sostenere questo dibattitto nel contesto italiano questo articolo ha pertanto un duplice scopo: offrire una sintesi delle prospettive scientifiche che hanno animato lo studio della notte urbana nel campo delle scienze sociale ed in particolare della geografia e proporre alcune linee di ricerca future per lo studio della notte urbana da parte della geografia italiana.
The urban night, a new frontier for the Italian Geography. - Nowadays the night is animated by a growing number of economic, social and cultural practices bringing some authors to speak a "nocturnalization" of the society. These transformations have attracted the attention of the researchers and the urban night is now an emerging theme in English, French, Spanish, and German geographic literature. In order to develop this debate also in the Italian context this article has a twofold purpose: to provide a synthesis of the scientific perspectives that have animated the study of the urban night in the field of social sciences, in particular geography, and a new research agenda for the study of the urban night by Italian geography.
La nuit urbaine, une nouvelle frontière pour la géographie italienne. - La nuit est aujourd'hui animée par un nombre croissant de pratiques économiques, sociales et culturelles au point que certains auteurs parlent d'une "nocturnalisation" de la société. Ces transformations ont attiré l'attention des chercheurs et la nuit urbaine est maintenant un sujet émergent dans la littérature géographique anglaise, française, espagnole et allemande. Pour contribuer au développement de ce débat aussi dans le cas italien cet article a un double objectif: fournir une synthèse des perspectives scientifiques qui ont animé l'étude de la nuit urbaine dans le domaine des sciences sociales, en particulier de la géographie, et proposer des axes de recherche pour l'étude de la nuit urbaine par la géographie italienne.
