Geo-history, Big History, Big Geography. Geographical perspectives between research and teaching. – The objective of this article is to explore some possible relationships between geography and history in schools and academic circles, in particular through the perspective of geo-history, the innovative stimuli related to the current Big History and the possible development of a Big Geography. In the Italian secondary schools, the two disciplines are now directed towards a possible integration, but this process is taking place without the support of an adequate theoretical-methodological debate. The paper explores the characteristics and weaknesses of the new approaches, considering the epistemological and training role that can be playedby the geographical knowledge and the spatial perspective in interdisciplinary perspective.
Géohistoire, Big History, Big Geography. Horizons de la géographie entre recherche et didactique. – Cet article a comme objectif d’envisager quelques relations possibles entre la géographie et l’histoire dans le contexte scolaire et universitaire, notamment à travers la perspective de la géohistoire, les apports innovateurs du courant de la Big History et le développement possible de la Big Geography. Dans l’école secondaire italienne ces deux disciplines sont actuellement orientées vers une intégration possible mais ce processus se fait sans le support d’un débat théorique-méthodologique sérieux. Notre réflexion analyse les caractéristiques et les points critiques des nouvelles approches, en tenant compte du rôle épistémologique et formatif que la connaissance géographique peut jouer et de la perspective spatiale dans un cadre interdisciplinaire.
