Colonialism and geography: the role of G.Hardy and J.Célérier in the building of colonial Morocco.- The article considers the role of two French Geographers, George Hardy and Jean Célérier,in the process of definition of the French colonial discourse with respect to Morocco. The ideas is that the transformation of Morocco under the scheme of the French Protectorate found fundamental levers in the discourses promoted by academic disciplines, above all geography and history. In particular, the paper focuses on the contribution French savant gave to the action of Hubert Lyautey, first General Resident in Morocco.

Colonialisme et géographie:la construction du Maroc colonial à travers les écrits de G.Hardy et J.Célérier. - Dans cet article, nous prenons en considération deux géographes, George Hardy et Jean Célérier, dans la construction du discours colonial français par rapport au Maroc. L'hypothèse de fond est que la transformation territoriale du Protectorat, dirigée par la métropole française, aurait trouvé dans les pratiques discursives avancées par les disciplines académiques, géographie et historie en premier lieu,leurs idées fondamentales. L'article accorde une importance particulière à la contribution des savants français à l'œuvre menée par le premier Résident Général, Hubert Lyautey, dans le processus de construction du Maroc moderne.
