Geography of the globalisation process in the distribution sector. - In the last decades the distribution sector has gone through a process of deep transformation that had radically changed the geography of commerce. These changes had a deep impact on the spatial and tiypological configuration of the retail business. This was the con-
sequence of the entrance on the local market of trans-national competitors that are able to accelerate the actual changes and to redefine the balance between industry and distribution.
The aim of this paper is to propose an analysis on the process of globalisation that invested the distribution sector, mantaining that it had determinate the development and on the main trajectories of the process, focusing the attention on the effects that it produced or it is able to produce on the local economies and on the organisation
of the territory. The expansion of the internationals distributive chains, in fact, seems to be able to influence significantly the dialectal relation between local and global.

Géographie des processus de globalisation dans le secteur de la distribution.
Le secteur de la distribution a traversé pendant les dernières décennies un processus de transformation profonde qui a radicalement modifié la géographie du commerce, avec des changements qui ont beaucoup influencé autant sur la configuration spatiale et typologique du commerce au détail, que sur les structures compétitives avec l'entrée de concurrents de niveau transnational capables, à leur tour, d'accélérer les changements en cours et de redéfinir les équilibres entre l'industrie et la distribution. Ce papier essaie de proposer une réflexion sur le processus de globalisation qui a investi le secteur de la distribution, sur les causes qui ont détermine son développement et sur les principales trajectoires évolutives du phénomène, en focalisant l'attention sur les effets que cela a produit ou peut produire sur les économies locales et sur l'organisation du territoire. Lexpansion de la chaîne de distribution internationale, en effet, semble être en mesure d'influencer significativement la relation dialectique entre local et global.
