The revitalization of mining sites: an opportunity for the territory. The Apulia case study. – The mining industry plays a central role for the economy of Europe and Italy. Most of the Italian territory is characterized by favorable geological environments and Apulia has one of the main concentrations of quarries on a national scale. Here, sadly, various factors working together have generated over time degrading environmental situations, hardly remediable. After cultivation the quarry spaces may instead present high potential, as they become able to reorganize the territory and give it value. This paper aims to give a framework on the theme of such revitalization and in particular to show the situation of Apulia by analysis of the projects planned for the 2007-2013 planning cycle.

Le réaménagement des sites miniers: une opportunité pour les régions. L’exemple des Pouilles. – L’industrie minière joue un rôle central pour l’économie de l’Europe et de l’Italie. La plupart du territoire italien est caractérisée par des environnements géologiques favorables, y compris les Pouilles, l’un des centres de carrières les plus importants à l’échelle nationale. Ici, cependant, plusieurs facteurs travaillant ensemble ont généré de plus en plus des situations dégradantes, à peine curables. Par contre, après l’abandon, les espaces creusés peuvent présenter un fort potentiel d’aménagement: ils deviennent capables de réorganiser le territoire et lui redonner valeur. Cet écrit vise à donner un aperçu général sur le thème du réaménagement et en particulier a montrer la situation des Pouilles, en analysant les projets prévus dans le cycle de programmation 2007-2013.
